Marine police seize firecrackers worth RM50,000 from a toy shop in Pahang

KUANTAN: Pahang Marine Police seized various types of firecrackers worth RM50,000 after raiding a shop selling children’s toys at Jalan Besar, here.

During the 10am raid carried out under ‘Ops Landai’ on Friday, police also detained the 44-year-old owner of the shop.

Region 3 Marine Police Commander ACP Azmi Ibrahim said 1,775 boxes containing various types of firecrackers were found in the shop which was actually licenced to sell children’s toys.

“This is the seventh seizure and biggest this year,” he told reporters here yesterday.

He added that in the first seven months of the year, Kuantan Marine Police had seized firecrackers and fireworks worth RM99,250. — Bernama
