KOTA KINABALU: Asli Jati Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Peter Anthony has been cleared of all allegations of false claims involving a RM43 million contract with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) concluded its investigation into the case recently.

This was confirmed yesterday by Peter, who said he has received a letter from MACC informing him of the closure of his case.

“The letter stated that the case investigation has been concluded and closed. This comes as great news to me because my name is finally cleared from these false allegations,” he told reporters when met at his office here.

Peter, who is also president of Malaysia Kadazan Dusun Murut Organisation (KDM Malaysia), said the news has injected new spirit for him to continue his charitable programmes under the KDM Malaysia banner.

“The allegations had affected my focus on work including my duties and obligations to KDM Malaysia.

“But I am grateful that the truth has finally prevailed. And with this new and positive development I can now continue my focus on the important work that needs to be done,” he said.

“I knew in my heart that things will eventually turn out okay. I had nothing to fear.

“It goes to show that if you have pure intention, your plans to help the people will eventually fall into place, no matter what obstacles you encounter,” he said.

Peter said that high on his priority list is the continuation of KDM Malaysia’s quest to defend and champion the people, especially the Kadazan Dusun Murut communities in Sabah.
