Two policemen land in hospital after crashes

KUCHING: Two police personnel were hospitalised after they were involved in separate road accidents between Tuesday night and yesterday morning.

The first accident involved a 39-year-old CID personnel who sustained a broken right arm following a collision between two motorcycles in Kota Samarahan around 8.30pm on
Tuesday.

The policeman told reporters that he was heading back to the Tabuan Jaya police complex when he crashed after another motorcyclist heading in the same direction collided into his machine.

He also said the other motorcyclist sped off from the scene following the accident, and that a passing motorist helped to call for an ambulance to send him to the Sarawak General Hospital.

The second accident occurred at the Green Road- Rubber Road traffic light junction when a policeman attached to the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit broke his left leg after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car.

The 34-year-old was heading back to his house in Demak Laut after sending his wife to work when the accident happened at 8am.

The injured cop was also sent to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment, while the driver of the car was
unhurt.
