SUKIPT gold hedal winners to be offered scholarship for higher studies

KUALA LUMPUR:  The inaugural Higher Education Ministry Games (SUKIPT) to be hosted by the Higher Education Ministry from Oct 28 to Nov 19 is expected to attract 25,000 participants.

Higher Education Ministry Secretary-general Datuk Abdul Rahim Mohd Noor said The Games, jointly organised by the ministry, Malaysian Universities Sports Council (Masum), Polytechnics Sports Council (MSP), Community Colleges Sports Council (Maskom) and Private Institutions Sports Council (Masiswa) is expected to see participation from all Higher Learning institutions in the country.

The SUKIPT which would feature 15 sports, would be hosted at various venues in the klang valley.

“Sports held in the SUKIPT are sports that feature in the Asean University Games (AUG). This will enable the athletes to prepare for the AUG,” he told reporters after a breaking of fast ceremony with the media here Thursday.

Among participants who will be taking part in the meet are from public and private institutions, Polytechnics, Community Colleges, Armed Forces and National back up athletes.
