LAHAD DATU: A local man was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment by a Magistrate’s Court here yesterday for stealing.
Mohd Kamarul Bin Esa, 20, pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge, M.Rajalingam, who sat as Magistrate to a charge under Section 379 A (1) of the Penal Code.Prosecuting officer, Inspector Soffi Jalal told the court that the accused stole a Honda motorcycle at the Kunak Hospital apartment on June 8 at about 12.00am. The machine belonged to one Saimon Nikulaus.
The fact of the case stated that the accused was arrested on July 12 following the information and the accused admitted to steal the motorcycle and hid it inside oil palm plantation in Kampung Selamat, Kunak, before opened the motorcycle’s parts and sell it to a man for RM 200.
However, half of the motorcycle’s components managed to be seized from the accused.
Rajalingam ordered the accused to serve the sentence from the date of arrest.
