Three men jailed four days, fined RM400 each for obstructing police officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Three men were sentenced to four days’ jail and fined RM400 each, in default 15 days’ jail, by the Magistrate’s Court here today for obstructing a police officer from discharging his duties last Saturday.

Magistrate Siti Shakirah Mohtarudin handed down the sentence on R. Ganesh, 23, Amar Norazrin, 18, and Kamal Norazrin, 22, after they pleaded guilty to the charge.

She ordered the sentence to be served on them from the date of their arrest on Aug 11.

Ganesh is a lorry attendant, while Amar is a labourer and Kamal, a car park attendant.

They were jointly charged with obstructing Inspector M.Sathiyaseelan from discharging his public functions in front of the Sri Maha Mariamman temple at Jalan Pintasan Segambut, Jinjang Sentul here, at 10pm last Aug 11. — BERNAMA
