KUCHING: Fans of Malaysian dive queen Pandelela Rinong will get a chance to chat live with their idol this morning.

The Olympic bronze medal-winning diver confirmed that she will be taking part in Yahoo! Malaysia’s popular Question Time live chat session and will talk to her fans for about an hour, beginning 9.30am as published on Yahoo! website yesterday.

Yahoo! Malaysia country editor Marc Lourdes said he is thrilled at the prospect of hosting the Olympian on Question Time.

“We’ve hosted famous Malaysian personalities before. But, this is the first time we are having a sportsperson on the chat session.

“To have an athlete of Pandelela’s calibre is very exciting indeed,” he said.

The format of Yahoo! Malaysia’s Question Time is simple. To take part, all you need to do is visit http://malaysia.yahoo.com/ at 9.30am on Thursday morning (today) and click on the link to join the chat session.

Pandelela is on a high after her superb performance in the Olympics turned her into an overnight sensation and the darling of 28 million Malaysians. The Sarawak-born 19-year-old gave Malaysia a largely unexpected medal in the 10m springboard event.

The teenage diver already has a string of accolades under her belt, despite her tender years. Pandelela’s honours include medals at Olympic, Asian Games, World Championships, World Series and Commonwealth Games levels, just to name a few.
