FURTHER REMANDED: The suspect was brought to the chamber upon arrival at the court.

SIBU: The wife of slain bank manager Stephen Wong and a man believed to be her boyfriend were yesterday morning ordered by the court here to be further remanded for seven days.

They arrived at the court about 9am in a police van together with suspects from other unrelated cases.

The man, who buried his face in his handcuffed hands, was brought to the chamber first while the woman was brought in 35 minutes later.

The woman was in the chamber for about an hour.

Clusters of people, among them family members and friends greeted their arrival at the court.

Unlike the previous week when the two were brought to the court for a remand order, the situation yesterday was calm.

REMAND EXTENDED: The wife of the slain bank manager being brought in to the chamber.

In the previous occasion, the sister of the woman was said to have scolded reporters who had trained their cameras on her sister.

Relatives of the deceased (Wong), meanwhile, have said they only want to find out the truth about the killing.

Yesterday, the police here picked up four other men ranging from 23 to 43 years old. They have since been remanded.

Wong was found dead in the master bedroom of his house in Ulu Sungai Merah here about 1.30am on June 14.

According to a pathologist, Wong was slashed on the neck and stabbed in the chest, but it was unclear if Wong was assaulted when he was sleeping.

He was also found with defensive cuts on his arms.

His wife and their 3-year-old son were said to be sleeping on the bed in the same room when the incident occurred.

All the six suspects are to appear in court again on Aug 22.
