Moon sighting tomorrow

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Borneo Bulletin reported that the sighting of the month of Syawal’s new moon to determine the beginning of Hari Raya Aidiffitri will be held this Saturday.
Syariah Court judges along with officials from the State Mufti’s Office, Ministry of Religious Affairs, with the cooperation of their counterparts from the Survey Department will be at several vantage points – at Bukit Shahbandar in the Brunei-Muara District, Bukit Agok and Bukit Ambok in Tutong District and Bukit Lumut in Belait District – to sight the new moon.
The result will be announced the same night over radio and television.
The first day of Syawal will fall on Sunday if the moon is sighted. If it is not sighted, then the first day of Syawal will be on Monday.
Bruneians will enjoy three days of public holiday for the festive Had Raya beginning this year as announced by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the recent national level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration.
