Family contemplates taking Wong’s son into custody if his mother detained

Posted on August 23, 2012, Thursday

SIBU: The family of slain bank manager Stephen Wong will consider taking the custody of Wong’s only son if his mother — one of the three murder suspects — is detained.

A family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity at the court house yesterday, said the three-year-old boy was now with the parents of the accused Ling Hang Tsyr in Kuching.

After Wong was killed, he and his mother briefly stayed with Wong’s parents before they moved to Kuching.

Wong’s family member said yesterday they would consider taking the custody of the boy because he was the only son of Wong, adding: “But first, we must seek a lawyer’s advice on how to apply for it.”

The family member said she was also worried about the emotional and psychological state of the boy.
