KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Puteri Umno is hoping for a positive outcome from discussions on a review of petroleum royalty in the state, beneficial to both the state and country.

Its chief, Musliati Moslimin, said however, the movement would leave the decision to the state and federal governments to consider the review of the five per cent petroleum royalty to the state.

“It is appropriate that the petroleum royalty for the state should be reviewed. We want it to be raised.

“But, we also hope the revenue will be a win-win situation to the people and the government,” she told reporters at an Aidilfitri open house in her residence near here.

She said this when asked to comment on Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman’s statement yesterday on the ‘open’ approach of the state government in its discussion with the central government on the issue.— Bernama
