FOR POST MORTEM: A medical personnel wheels Lagan’s body to the mortuary.

MIRI: One of the suspects arrested in connection with a break-in at a security firm’s office here on Tuesday morning suddenly collapsed and died in an investigation room at Miri Central Police Station (CPS) while being interrogated at around 5pm Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Lagan @ Dolah Anak Dau, aged 59.

Miri police chief ACP Mun Kock Keong when met during a press conference last night at Miri Police Headquarters said the case was being classified as sudden death.

The deceased was one of the security guards suspected to have been involved in the burglary at the security firm’s office where more than RM60,000 went missing, believed to be an inside job.

In the room at that time were the other suspect and the investigation officer of the case.

Paramedics from Miri Hospital were quickly summoned after the incident happened.

Mun was also seen arriving at CPS after his officer told him about the incident.

The press conference was held at about 9pm.

“The body has been sent to Miri Hospital for post mortem. We regret that this thing happened and I promise that investigation would be conducted transparently,” Mun assured, although they suspected no foul play was involved.
