SMK Lopeng Tengah emerged victorious

MIRI: SMK Lopeng Tengah emerged victorious in the recent Miri division Inter-School Tang Soo Do sparring championship after edging SMK Pujut and SMK Merbau.

Organised jointly by the Tang Soo Do Association of Miri Province and Taman Tunku Tang Soo Do Club, a total of 145 exponents from primary and secondary schools in Miri took part in the two-day event.

The event was divided into six categories namely Group A and B for black belt holders, Group C – brown belt; Group D – yellow belt; Group E – orange belt; Group F – white and green Belt.

The winners for Group F were namely Jaywell, Kevin Ong, Bradley Joseph, Dominic Umpa, Muhamad Sadia, Gervais Hdriel, Thian Sheng Ching, Nur Izzati Najwa, Syedzabid Syed Habeeb and Veronica Simba.

The schools which competed include SMK Merbau, SMK Pujut, Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang, SMK Baru, SMK Lopeng Tengah, SMK St. Joseph, SK Merbau, SK Senadin, SK St. Joseph, SK St. Columba, SK Jalan Bintang, SK Temenggong Muip, SK Pujut Corner and SK Lambir.

According to the organizing committee spokesman, the primary aim was to select representatives for the coming 19th National Tang Soo Do Championship to be held from December 14 to 17.

The committee also expressed appreciation to all the exponents and their parents for their understanding, strong support and continuous cooperation in ensuring the success of the event.

The event had attracted a large number of spectators who have made the atmosphere even livelier and exciting for the competitors.
