TAWAU: The mother of Sabturiah Faisal, 19, who was found murdered at her flat in Taman Taming Jaya, Kajang on August 13 want to see the perpetrator caught and punished.

Sabturiah’s grieving mother Munah Pide, 50, said she could not accept what had happened to her seventh child among 12 children.

She said she wants to see the perpetrator suffer like her daughter.

Munah said she had lost two children this year after Sabturiah’s brother died of sickness earlier.

“Sabturiah was a good daughter, religious and had good relationship with all her brothers and sisters,” said Munah during a visit by Member of Parliament for Tawau, Datuk Chua Soon Bui, to her family in Merotai Besar.

According to her, Sabturiah had called to inform that she wanted to come home as she did not like a man there who was ‘disturbing’ her.

She said her other daughter Samsiah, 26, is keeping tabs on police investigation into the case.

It was reported that Sabturiah’s body was discovered by her sister Samsiah and brother-in-law on the floor of her bedroom in their rented flat.

She had told Samsiah that she would be leaving her job after Hari Raya Aidilfitri to pursue her studies at a polytechnic in Tawau.

“My sister had come to Kuala Lumpur to work so that she could save money for the future and I was happy that she wanted to continue with her education,” Samsiah had told reported at the Serdang Hospital mortuary where her sister’s body was taken to.

“My husband had gone to check on Sabturiah and came back sobbing. He told me that she was lying on the floor unconscious,” she said, adding, “I noticed some of my jewellery and about RM200 were missing.”

Chua, who expressed sympathies with Munah’s family, said she will help the family to apply for welfare assistance, as the mother who works as a wood grader and her husband Faisal Mapamade, 55, who works as a school cleaner only earn about RM450 each.
