KUALA LUMPUR: The Magistrate Court here yesterday postponed to Sept 28 the remention of the case involving three men charged with kidnapping a 12-year-old boy of Dutch nationality, Nayati Shamelin Moodliar, with the aim of demanding a ransom of RM300,000.

Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin fixed the new remention date after being informed yesterday by deputy public prosecutor S Malini Anne that the prosecution had yet to receive the report on the closed circuit television cameras at the scene.

“We have just received the chemistry report on the case and we would like to request for a new date for remention,” Malini said.

Meanwhile, lawyer Rejinder Singh who represented the accused, Foong Khar Fai, 24, told the court that his client was in need of a medical treatment as he was suffering from skin irritation since the day of his arrest.

Rejinder, who also represented Chang Tat Siong, 24, said that the prison management had refused to provide the medical treatment for his client.

The court then ordered the investigating officer in the case to ensure that proper medical treatment was given to Foong.

Lee Phak Seng, 19, together with Chang and Foong, and another man still at large, were charged with kidnapping Nayati at Jalan Kiara 1, Mont Kiara, Brickfields at 7.30am on April 27.

Self-employed Lee and Foong and salesman Chang, were charged under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act 1961, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provide for the death sentence or life imprisonment and whipping.
