KUCHING: A self-employed man was fined a total of RM16,500 by a Magistrates’ Court here yesterday for possessing 1.50g of cannabis, 1.40g of methamphetamine and for consuming amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Burhanuddin Gani, 34, from Kampung Pinang Jawa, appeared before Magistrate Gerald Empaling Donald who handed down the decision after the accused pleaded guilty to all the charges.
The drugs were found with him when he was nabbed at a restaurant in Satok about 5.30pm on Oct 28, 2010. He was also tested positive of methamphetamine and amphetamine when a urine test was conducted on him.
For possessing cannabis and methamphetamine, he was fined to RM8,000 in default nine months’ jail and RM6,000 in default seven months’ jail respectively.
For the third charge, he was fined RM2,500 in default five months’ jail.
