Sokanjaya triumph at Maksak 9-aside football

SARIKEI : Sokanjaya clinched the championship title of the Sarikei Maksak 9–aside football competition after they defeated Landas 1–0 in the final held here last Saturday.
The team had earlier advanced into the final after beating PSKPP team 1–0 in the semi-finals while Landas earned their ticket after beating JPNS team 2–0 on penalty shoot out.
Seven teams representing the various government departments in Sarikei took part in the competition.
The main objective of the competition was to select players to represent Sarikei at the Maksak inter-division competition to be held in Sri Aman on Sept 22-23. Prizes were presented by Sarikei deputy Resident, Alex Liau.
