KUCHING: A 27-year-old man was placed on four-day remand to facilitate investigation into a credit card fraud here.

Court Registrar Brian Bryan Mason granted the remand applied for by the investigation officer.

The suspect working with a private company was re-arrested on Thursday at the police station where he was summoned for interrogation.

The court ordered him to be produced in court upon expiry of the remand order on Monday (Sept 10).

Recently a 37-year-old woman was arrested after 29 credit cards issued by local and foreign banks were found and seized from her in the same case which came to light during an Aug 29 police press conference.

The woman was later released.

The cards which turned out to be genuine were issued under the names of different individuals though the billing address was the woman’s house.

It was learnt that the suspect and the woman had some sort of business arrangement, which enabled her to get the credit cards easily.
