Najib a political ‘doctor’ – Pairin

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Tan Sri Jospeh Pairin Kitingan has described Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as a political ‘doctor’ who is determined to heal the people’s ‘illnesses’.

That is why Najib is going round meeting people so he can ‘diagnose’ the illnesses of the people throughout the country, including in Sabah, he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who was launching the PBS Tanjung Aru annual general meeting here yesterday, said the people’s illnesses are the problems affecting them and Najib is persistent in trying to solve them.

Some of the ‘cure’ for the illnesses are in the form of assistance for the people, such as the BR1M, 1AZAM, scholarships, programmes for the hardcore poor and subsidies in cash as well as kind, he said.

Pairin took the Opposition to task for always criticizing the Government and accusing Barisan Nasional (BN) of not doing anything in terms of development for the people.

“The Opposition are in denial and do not see what is in front of them. They do not see what the Government has done, especially when it comes to assisting the people. So when they do not see what the Government has done, they are lying to themselves.

“If we compare what the Government has implemented with what the Opposition is claiming, we can clearly see that they are wrong, as much in terms of development has been implemented by BN,” Pairin stressed.

“We know that promises are easy to make but the bottom line is that they must be fulfilled and this is what BN has done,” he said.
