A PLACE SHE CALLS HOME: The woman who sleeps and rests on a five-foot way at Workshop Road.

SIBU: A homeless woman has made the five-foot-way her home at Workshop Road for the last three years.

A member of the public called a few reporters to the scene to express concern.

He hoped the authorities would help the woman in her 60s to live a more decent life.

According to the woman, who did not want to reveal her name, she is left alone in town after her three children left to work elsewhere.

She said for three years, she slept and rested at the five-foot-way.

The woman, originally from downstream Bukit Lan village, previously worked in a hawker drink stall at Rambutan Lane.

Sibu Municipal Council pulled down the row of stalls when hawkers were relocated to Sibu Central Market.

The woman did not want to talk much about her family members and how she ended up living on the street.
