KOTA KINABALU: Mohd Hilman Idham, the special aide to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Azmin Ali, was yesterday stopped from entering the state upon his arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International airport from Kuala Lumpur at 3.20pm.

Mohd Hilman was supposed to have attended a state-level Pakatan Rakyat Hari Malaysia celebration today (September 15) with 13 other PKR members, but he was the only one prohibited from entering the state.

“After a check at the immigration counter, I was informed that I am prohibited from entering Sabah. The order was made under Section 65(1)(a) of the Immigration Act. The notice was signed by the deputy director of Sabah Immigration Department, Fenny Fiona.

“I was asked to fly back to Kuala Lumpur,” he said in a press statement to The Borneo Post yesterday.

With the nation celebrating its 49th anniversary of its formation, Hilman described the state government action as having denied his right to perform his part as a Malaysian to celebrate the historical day with his friends in Sabah.
