MIRI: PKR Miri looks forward to Malaysia Day celebration as a sign of better things to come from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Rakyat (PR).

“This Malaysia Day celebration is unique because great changes are coming from both sides of the political divide, BNand Pakatan, which will benefit the people,” said PKR Miri branch chairman Dr Michael Teo.

Dr Teo is optimistic of the country’s outlook no matter who won in the upcoming 13th general election said
to be expected as early as late November after the Muslim pilgrimage season and the announcement of the national budget for next year.

“Thanks to the competition offered by Pakatan which has increasingly pushed BN to do more and better, the people can look forward to real changes either in BN’s Transformasi or Pakatan’s Reformasi,” said Dr Teo, who is determined to contest Miri seat as PKR’s candidate, despite DAP Sarawak early announcement of its candidate in Senadin DAP branch chairlady Lim Su Kien.

Dr Teo commended both sides for offering goodies to the people, which he attributed to the emerging two-party system that gained momentum since the 2008 general elections that saw Pakatan making significant gains.

He highlighted BN’s 1Malaysia-centric benefits like BR1M and KR1M versus PR’s proposals of people-friendly benefits like lower car prices and cheaper higher education as the positive changes for the people.

“With so much to look forward to from both sides, I wish all Malaysians a Happy Malaysia Day on September 16,” he added.
