Two employers fined

SANDAKAN: The Magistrate’s Court here fined two employers for failing to register a business and comply with summons.
Magistrate Amir Shah Bin Amir Hassan handed down the sentences to Family Mart and Bakhtiar Logistik which were charged under the Social Security Act 1969 and Regulations (General) of the Social Security Act 1971.
Bakhtiar Logistik was fined RM1,000, in default, four months’ jail for not complying with summons while Family Mart was fined RM500, in default, two months’ imprisonment for failing to register the business as stipulated under Section 4 (AKSP 1969) and Regulations (General) of the Social Security Act 1971.
The case was prosecuted by Social Security Organisation (Socso) prosecuting officer Mohd Fauzie Bin Yusof.
