Youth fined, jailed for hurting his parents

KUCHING: A youth was slapped with a total of RM1,000 in fine and a year in jail after he pleaded guilty to two charges of criminal intimidation and assaulting his parents.
Ramlie Busrie, 22, from Taman Malihah, Matang, had intimidated his father and mother by uttering threatening words, “Aku nak mbak samurai, nak pake ku belah badan kitak duak, nak terbelah duak,’ at their house at about 7am on Sept 12.
He had also shoved a meat mincing knife towards his father when carrying out the intimidation.
The court imposed a RM500 fine in default one month in prison each for the charges under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
For the third charge, he was sentenced to one year imprisonment for causing hurt to his mother by kicking her on the chest until she fell down to the ground. He had also punched her right eye.
For the third charge, he was convicted under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
The brief fact of the case stated that the parents had advised their son not to hang around with youngsters who were involved in negative and unhealthy activities.
Ramlie, however, lost temper and threatened to kill them.
He (the accused) then went to the sink at the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and swing it towards his father, but the latter managed to escape.
A struggle ensued between father and son. When his son got up from the floor, he kicked his mother on the chest and punched her on the right eye.
Ramlie was not represented in court while Inspector Yunus Sahak prosecuted.
