SANDAKAN: Umno will remain relevant as the backbone to govern the country if it practises fairness to all irrespective of race or religion, according to Kinabatangan member of parliament Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
When speaking at the Kinabatangan Umno divisional delegates meeting yesterday, Bung Moktar gave the assurance that Umno would search for approaches to best understand the needs of the multi-racial and multi-religious communities in the country.
“Barisan Nasional will remain relevant after the people have personally seen and experienced the situation in states governed by the opposition.
“The component parties in the BN coalition constantly work in unison with each other in developing the country,” he said.
Refering to the delegates meeting, the Umno supreme council member, said the meeting might appear to be the last before the 13th General Election.
“I am satisfied with the preparation made by the Kinabatangan Umno election machinery, leading me to hold the belief that BN can retain its Kinabatangan parliamentary seat as well as the Sukau and Kuamut state seats,” he said, adding an urging for all Umno members to play their role to ascertain victory for the party.
