LET’S CUT IT TOGETHER: Chin (fourth left) and Ting (third left) invite members of the organising committee to cut the cake jointly to symbolise the launch of the Merdeka Raya gathering.

MIRI: The people in Miri must be more careful when selecting their leaders in the upcoming 13th general election.

When giving this reminder, Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin said Mirians
should know whom to vote if they wanted to enjoy continuous development.

“We do not want Mirians to repeat the same mistake which was done a few years ago. Because if the same thing is repeated, the people would not be able to enjoy sustainable development programmes which have been lined up for them,” he said at the Merdeka Raya gathering organised by Kampung Pujut Tanjung Batu
and An-Nur mosque near Pujut Corner here yesterday.

Chin also said now was the right time to gain back the trust and support from the people. As such, he urged all BN component parties to stay united, especially in facing the coming election. He also reminded the people that Sarawak had grown tremendously after the formation of Malaysia in 1963.

“The formation is indeed beneficial to the people in Sarawak and Sabah in so many ways, namely economic growth and improvement in living standards of the people,” he said.

His political secretary Datuk Sebastian Ting was among the many people at the gathering.
