KUCHING: Concealing a refrigerator belonging to his adopted parents and selling it landed a young man from Kampung Buntal in five months’ jail.
Rabzi Zaini, 24, appeared before Magistrate Maris Agan who convicted him under Section
414 of the Penal Code after he pleaded guilty to the crimes yesterday.
Rabzi admitted to concealing the refrigerator belonging to Zaini Buang at their house at Kampung Buntal at about 8am on Sept 14 this year.
Complainant Zaini said he noticed the refrigerator missing. Suspecting his adopted son Rabzi had sold it, he lodged a police report against him.
Magistrate Maris Agan ordered the accused, not represented by a defence counsel, to serve the sentence immediately.
In the same court room, a youth was sentenced to three months’ jail after he pleaded guilty to breaking into an area at Lorong Bayor Bukit 8 here last week.
The 18-year-old young man committed the offence at about 5.30am on Sept 11.
He was convicted of a charge under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
