KDCA member again urged to show evidence

PENAMPANG: Parti KeADILan Rakyat (PKR) Penampang information chief Honorsius Datuk Alfred is curious to know if KadazaDusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Supreme Council member Jeoffrey Ekol is now a politician.

Honorsius said that this was because Jeoffrey’s statement published in a local daily recently made him more of a politician than a member of a NGO.

“We are actually amused from reading through Jeoffrey’s statement and he seemed to represent KDCA. Whilst we may have read it wrongly, but his statement on Sept 16 in a local daily is more of a politician then a non-political organisation leader. He asked PR to sue the non Pakatan linked blogsite.

“Anyhow, and this is where we actually differ with Jeoffrey. True, there is no decision to initiate legal action at the moment as we have yet to identify the real culprits/benefactor/administrator of the blogsite and will probably only do consequent to the result of the investigation by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC),” he said in a statement yesterday.

Recently, the blogsite carried an article which mocked the Prime Minister for participating in the Sumazau dance during the Kadazandusun and Murut Harvest Festival.

The title of the blog also suggested the cultural Sumazau dance was only fit for people with low morality.

Honorsius pointed out that the owner of the blogsite is an elusive owner/benefactor as all are online and whilst PKR can link them to other sites which are against Pakatan Rakyat, it would only make that decision once the real identity of the blogsite owner/benefactor is/are ascertained.

As far as politics is concerned, this website and similar websites have tried hard to masquerade and pass off as Pakatan Rakyat linked website.

“This is where we give notice to all that the online psyc-war by some of those against Pakatan Rakyat is more real then ever now. As we had already mentioned before, this issue transcends all political leanings and any insult to any culture by any parties be it Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat linked should and must be condemned and punished to the fullest.

“In this case, the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission will eventually make known who the benefactor/administrator of the blogsite. Hence the evidence as to who are the real owner of this blogsite and if any evidence is in the hands of Jeoffrey Ekol, he must submit it to the authorities,” he said.
