Najib, Rosmah attend farewell, appreciation dinner for former treasury secretary-general

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor attended a farewell and appreciation dinner Wednesday night for former Treasury secretary-general, Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah.

Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa and new Treasury secretary-general Datuk Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.

The prime minister in his address expressed his appreciation and thanks to Wan Abdul Aziz, who went on mandatory retirement from Aug 23, for his contribution throughout his service.

“I appreciate very much the contribution and role he played, particularly as an advisor to me as finance minister and prime minister,” he said.

Najib said the country achieved many successes during Wan Abdul Aziz’s term.

The prime minister further described Wan Abdul Aziz’s service as “embodying the best tradition of the Malaysian civil service ethos” marked by professionalism, integrity, trustworthiness and courtesy. –Bernama
