BAD CRASH: A traffic policeman takes notes at the scene of the accident.

MARUDI: A head-on collision with a taxi on Wednesday caused a Marudi District Council (MDC) worker to lose all the teeth in his lower jaw.

Osman Abdullah’s bottom teeth broke due to the impact of the crash between his Proton Wira and the taxi, also a Proton Wira, at Limbang Road around 3.10pm.

The taxi driver, identified only as Tie, and his three passengers — school girls believed to be from SMK Marudi — also suffered injuries to their faces and bodies.

Sources said it was raining heavily when the accident occurred.

Osman was heading to his office at Kampung Datu Zen Galau, Padang Kerbau, while the taxi was driving the students back to school after a spot of shopping. All five victims were brought to the Marudi Hospital for treatment.

A traffic police team was seen at the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
