KUALA LUMPUR: The National Grand Prix Circuit to be held in Sarawak will be a platform for National riders to earn their place for the 2013 Asia Cycling Championships (ACC 2013) in India and Le Tour de Langkawi 2013 (LTdL).

National head coach for road race, Aminuddin Sulaiman said all riders would be given a chance to prove themselves in the Sarawak GP which starts from today to Sunday in Kuching.

“I will focus on the performances of the riders in Kuching before short listing riders for the ACC 2013 and LTdL 2013,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

Aminuddin said he was also monitoring the progress of two riders – Amir Mustafa Rusli and Loh Sea Keong – who are currently competing in the 2012 World Road Race Championships in Limburg, Holland.

“I will also be looking at the performances of elite riders Mohd Adiq Hussainie Othman, Mohd Harrif Salleh and Mohd Zamri Salleh,” he said. Meanwhile, seasoned rider Suhardi Hassan, winner of a gold medal in the 2005 Manila SEA Games said he would do his best to prove that he was still a rider to be reckoned with and earn himself a spot in Aminuddin’s team. — Bernama
