PENAMPANG: The issue of the access road to Kampung Kohizan Tengah and Kg Dungkahang has finally been resolved.

Residents can now have the right of way to the villages, Kepayan assemblyman Datuk Edward Khoo said.

“Finally this right of way is built and I was invited by the developer today (yesterday) to look at the completed road. After the inspection, everybody is satisfied with what has been done,” he said, adding that representatives from the District Council, residents, architect, and developers were also present to inspect the road.

“This problem is resolved and the road can be used as soon as possible. This is a good example of the private sector, council, residents and elected representative working together to resolve a problem.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the council for their cooperation and assistance. Also the developer for accommodating what was raised up by the residents,” the Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, said.

He also expressed gratitude to the residents for bringing the problem to the relevant quarters to be resolved, instead of airing it through alternative channels.

Meanwhile a representative of the villagers, Wilson Boin Chai, said they were very happy that they have the right of way to their residences now.

“We are very happy to have this problem solved and the road sealed up. We would like to expressed our gratitude to Datuk Edward who worked hard to ensure that we got the right of way.

“Our gratitude also goes to the developer and council for their cooperation,” Wilson added.
