KUCHING: It appears that Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) has yet to finalise and confirm on Sarawak’s football team plans and direction for their 2013 campaign.

The rumour mills had gone on the overdrive with regards to speculation on the rather complicated return of the highly rated midfielder Joseph Kalang Tie to Sarawak, the fate of current players as well as the composition of the backroom boys.

When contacted by The Borneo Post yesterday, Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president Datu Sudarsono Osman had this to say; “Nothing has been finalised yet. It is all mere speculations.”

This pretty sum up the real scenario, and places facts before fiction as passionate fans of the Crocs seeks the truth.

Sudarsono does not want to disclose any details at the moment but commented that there is no decision yet made by FAS. He however promised to talk to The Borneo Post as soon as possible to clear the air.

On Joseph Kalang Tie, there is a poser to his transfer status.

A report originated from Bernama by a local daily stated that Joseph is on a loan stint with Terengganu. His “loan” stint have since expired hence he is “confirmed” for a return to Sarawak.

Details on his transfer to the Turtles were however never clear at it seems that he was signed on permanent contract with the side.

In 2010, The Borneo Post reported that Sarawak tried to acquire Joseph’s services for the Sukma XIII but failed as he has signed a contract with Terengganu FA then.

During that time, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) competition unit Chief Ahmad Fuad Hassan however explained that according to M-League regulations, any player who had signed to play for another state prior to Sukma would be bound to play for that state and not his home state.

Thus Joseph played for Terengganu instead, indicating that he was signed permanently to play for the Turtles.

“Joseph signed the contract with Terengganu before Sukma 2010, so he would have to play for the East-coast state in the biennial Games in Melaka. I have instructed the M-League competition committee to clarify the situation by sending the official letter to FAS and Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS),” commented Ahmad Fuad at that time. After being released by Terengganu recently, Sarawak are rumoured to be interested in their former midfield starlet.

During his stint with Sarawak, he is well known for his skills and abilities, most particularly his knack of scoring long-ranged goals.

At the age of 21, Joseph was the youngest player to captained Sarawak in the Malaysia League during the 2007-08 seasons. Being one of Sarawak’s best football players, he has also attended training sessions with English side Hartlepool United in 2008.
