PR Shadow Cabinet not necessary – Lajim

BEAUFORT: Member of Parliament for Beaufort Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin feels that it is not necessary for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to set up a Shadow Cabinet as requested by Barisan Nasional (BN) recently.

The former Deputy Minister for Housing and Local Government said  what Sabah Barisan Nasional secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan called for recently was irrelevant and unnecessary.

“We do not need a Shadow Cabinet because to me the line-up is PR’s secret and also would not mean anything if the Shadow Cabinet does not become a reality,” he said.

Lajim who now heads Pakatan Perubahan Sabah (PPS) added that what was more important was the people’s mandate to PR in the 13th general election.

It is clear that PR’s cabinet will be created with a formula that is accepted by the Coalition’s leaders and will comprise all races.

He said this to reporters after a meet-the-people session here on Friday.

When asked for his comment on DAP Perak chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham who had, on his Twitter account, questioned the objections of Muslims to the controversial film, ‘Innocence of Muslims’, Lajim said that he does not want to make any speculations about the matter.

“However, I would like to stress here that PPS is strongly against Ngeh’s action as it shows he is not serious in his respect for the feelings of Muslims in this country,” he said, adding he would leave the matter to the PR leaders to resolve.
