The three other hole-in-one prizes include a home theatre set worth RM15,000 for a hole-in-one feat at Matang Hole 3 and Siol Hole 4 sponsored by Saratim Insurance Agency, a RM15,000 Rolex watch (Matang Hole 8 and Demak Hole 14) courtesy of Progressive Insurance Bhd and a holiday package inclusive of return flight tickets to London worth RM15,000 for a hole-in-one feat at Santubong Hole 14 and Demak Hole 17 sponsored by Multi-Purpose Insurance Bhd.

“The main objective of this competition is to build network and enhancing ties between STIDC and its clients, other government agencies and collaborating partners from both the government and private sectors. This tournament is organised by STIDC in collaboration with KGS.

“A total of 240 golfers are expected to enter this tourney with half the spots to be filled by those who registered to participate at the main event.

“This tournament will see participants from both local and foreign golfers including those of Korean and Japanese nationals,” STIDC general manager Datu Sarudu Hoklai told The Borneo Post after officiating at the presentation ceremony of the tournament’s challenge trophy to KGS general manager Bernard Lim at Wisma Sumber Alam, Petra Jaya yesterday.

Also present to witness the event were KGS club captain Abdul Jalil Abdul Rahman, Saratim Insurance Agency Services Sdn Bhd general manager Dato Patrick Liew and representatives from the other hole-in-one prizes corporate sponsors. Saratim insurance agency is a wholly-owned subsidiary of STIDC. A total of five categories will be competed at the tournament namely; VIP, Invitation, Staff of STIDC and its subsidiary companies, Men’s Open and Women’s Open. The Men’s and Women’s Open however is only limited to KGS members.

KGS has 3,200 members with about 2,000 active golfers.

“This tournament also provides an opportunity for us to promote KGS among foreign golfers. In addition, locals should utilise the course as well,” added Sarudu.
