Security guard charged with cheating company secretary

KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard pleaded not guilty in the magistrates’ court here yesterday, to a charge of cheating a private company secretary of RM10,500 in March.

Adam Hussin, 33, was charged with cheating Wan Rosilah Abu Hashim, 46, by wrongfully inducing her to hand over RM10,500 as payment for the purchase of a Honda Civic car which she would not have given if she had not been duped.

He is alleged to have committed the offence at the Jalan P. Ramlee Maybank branch, here, at 9.49am on March 12 this year.

The offence under Section 420 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 10 years and whipping.

Magistrate Amal Razim Alias allowed the accused bail of RM4,000 in one surety and fixed Oct 17 for mention of the case.

DPP Norman Mohd Nasir appeared for the prosecution while the accused was not represented. — Bernama
