WEST KALIMANTAN: Two of the 11 terrorism suspects arrested in sweeps in Central Java and West Kalimantan were released on Monday, a source said on Tuesday, Jakarta Globe Reported News.
The National Police’s antiterrorism squad Densus 88 released Nopem Biarso and Indra Fitrianto on a lack of evidence.

“They are being returned to their families because we do not have sufficient evidence to detain them. They were released yesterday [Monday],’ said a source in Densus 88 who wished to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak with the press.

The two men were arrested in a raid on a house in Pajang, Kartasura, Central Java, on Saturday. A third man, Kamidi, remained in detention on Tuesday.

Of the nine men still in police custody, only one — Fajar Noviyanto — has been charged, the source said. The other eight were still being questioned on Tuesday.

Fajar is the youngest member of the alleged “Alqaeda-Indonesia” terrorist cell. At 18 years old, he is a second-year student in senior high school, the source said.
