SHAH ALAM: Gopeng Umno Youth chief Mohd Arlizam Abdul Rahman was charged in the Sessions Court here yesterday with possession and using a forged letter of attorney for a piece of land in Kapar, Klang, five years ago.

Mohd Arlizam, 37, who is a businessman, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge before judge Asmadi Hussin.

He was charged with possessing and using the document, dated May 2007 between Liew Woon Foh and him for a piece of land owned by the former at GM 781, Lot 4337, Batu 3 3/4, Jalan Kapar.

Mohd Arlizam was alleged to have committed the offence at the Klang District and Land Office on May 21, 2007.

Deputy public prosecutor Iswa Tonie, who prosecuted, proposed Mohd Arlizam to be released on a RM10,000 bail and also to surrender his passport to the court.

However, lawyer Kevin Arasu, representing Mohd Arlizam, requested bail at RM5,000 and also informed the court that his client had heart problems and it was his first offence.

Asmadi allowed Mohd Arlizam to be released on a RM10,000 bail with one surety and set Oct 24 for mention. — Bernama
