Private college HR officer charged with CBT

KUALA LUMPUR: A private college human resource officer pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court yesterday to five counts of Criminal Breach of Trust (CBT) involving payroll amounting to RM495,000 three years ago.

Nadiah Kamaruddin, 35, who worked at Cosmopoint Sdn Bhd allegedly deposited RM367,746.01 into her Maybank and CIMB Bank accounts between May 29 2009 and Feb 10 2012.

The mother of four allegedly deposited another sum of RM127,263.78 into her husband’s Ambank account
between May 31 2010 and Dec 30 2011.

Nadia, who has since been suspended, purportedly committed the offences at Cosmopoint Sdn Bhd, Jalan Tiong Nam, off Jalan Raja Laut here and faces up to 14 years in prison, caning and possible fine upon conviction under Section 408 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
