KUCHING: Some 400 sports enthusiasts from all over the state are set to take part in the eagerly awaited ‘Inter-Divisions Sports League Tournament for All’ on Sept 29 at the Sarawak Sports and Youth Complex here.
The unique sports event will be held from 8am to 4pm and is organised to encourage the local community to exercise regularly and excel in sports. It is also held to promote sports activities to the whole nation.
Organised by the Youth and Sports Department of Sarawak, the three sports events are futsal, netball and sepak takraw.
Futsal and netball’s first prize is in the form of RM2,000 cash, second prize is RM1,000, third prize RM500 and the fourth prize is RM300.
As for sepak takraw, the first prize is RM 1,500 while second prize winner gets RM700 and the two losing semi-finalists will receive RM225.
Youth and Sports Department of Sarawak’s acting director Razali Mohamad is expected to officiate at the closing ceremony and prize presentation.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the tournament and support their team.
