KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik’s cheating trial was postponed to Monday, Oct 1, after the former transport minister was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital this morning for low blood sugar and heart problems.

High Court Judge Datuk Ahmadi Asnawi allowed the adjournment when counsel Wong Kian Kheong informed the court that his client, who was discharged from the hospital Thursday, had to be admitted again this morning.

“Dr Ling was admitted to the hospital two days ago (Wednesday) and was discharged yesterday. But I was informed by his son that Dr Ling had to be readmitted this morning due to his health problems,” said Wong.

He also submitted his client’s medical report which was verified by the hospital’s specialist, Dr Rahal Yusoff and added that the latest report would be provided once he obtained it.

Meanwhile, Wong told reporters outside the court that Dr Ling was admitted to the hospital about 8 this morning due to low blood sugar and for follow up heart treatment.– BERNAMA
