LAWAS: God forbid actions – either by words or deeds – which can lead to a break in the brotherhood and relationship among the people.

“Likewise, bad behaviour degrades the dignity of other human beings,” added Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan when referring to the recent murder in the district.

He reminded society to continue strengthening unity and avoid acts or words that could jeopardise the peace and harmony of the people.

Awang Tengah said the incident should be taken as a lesson to continue social cohesion.

“For Muslims, love is associated with the perfection of faith and this shows how important the value of love and relationships are in the lives of fellow believers.

“Thus, the recent killing  would not have happened if we stick to the concept of brotherhood and faith as taught by religions,” he said when representing Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in officiating at the State-Level Nasyid Festival 2012 on Saturday night.

Also present were Islamic Affairs Assistant Minister Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, Public Utilities Assistant Minister Datuk Sylvester Entries Muran, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Bumiputera Entrepreneur), Datuk Naroden Majais; Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and Limbang Resident Maria Hasman.
