SINGAPORE: Malaysia has over the years achieved impressive growth as a tourism destination and business hub, says Fred Seow, vice-president of Marketing, Asiatravel.com Holdings Ltd.

“As a leading pan-Asian travel company listed in Singapore with
a 17-year history, we are experiencing rising interest from visitors to visit Malaysia, including special interest travel groups,” he told Bernama.

Despite the impressive growth, he said there are ways to further boost travel demand to the country.

“What will drive more travel demand to Malaysia is the further development of major attractions, theme parks, and an improvement in infrastructure for accessibility,” he added.

As the only international travel agency with an inbound licensed office in Kuala Lumpur, the company is seeking more flexible licensing regulations, to secure an outbound licence to help the growing outbound business.

“Our tested technology and domain knowledge could be imparted into Malaysia in a faster, more cost-effective manner,” Seow said.

Asiatravel.com is an online travel and hotel reservation service provider with direct contracts with over 5,000 hotels in its core destinations in the region, and integration to various hotel computer reservation systems, giving instant access to over 50,000 hotel inventories worldwide.

It was recently conferred the prestigious Asia’s Best Employer Brand and Best Brand awards by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress, and Stars of the Industry Group. — Bernama
