SIBU: Sibu Division Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA) invites all primary four to six pupils who are interested to pick up the sport of lawn tennis to join the coaching clinic on Oct 6 -7 at the SDLTA Bukit Lima tennis court here.

According to a press statement from the SDLTA, registration and coaching lessons will be free of charge.

Participants are however advised to bring their own drinks, spare shirt, towels, cap and racket, and come in proper sport attires.

Registration will be done at the courts at 8am to 8.30am on Oct 6 and parents of young children are advised to fetch their children punctually after each coaching session.

Parents, guardian and teachers of students are required to stay for a briefing from 8.30am to 9am on that day.

“We aim to have this coaching clinic yearly so we could build up the interest in tennis amongst the young students.

“Eventually, we are targeting to employ a full time professional coach. In achieving this target, we need the support of students, parents, and the teachers so that we can have consistent groups of junior players in order to afford the cost of employing a full time professional coach in Sibu.

“Our SDLTA president Vincent Goh will be officiating the clinic in the morning of Oct 6. Therefore we hope that students will participate actively in this coaching clinic. Students who have completed the whole programme will be awarded with certificate of attendance,” the statement added.
