SIBU: Kuching emerged victorious in the recent 1Student 1Sport Education Minister’s cup sports meet held at Tun Zaidi Stadium.
The champion team scored 91 points while Sarikei finished second with 86 points followed by Sibu with 76 points.
Other divisions who competed were from Samarahan, Limbang, Kapit, Bintulu, Betong, Mukah, Miri and Sri Aman.
The event was organised by Sibu Division Schools Sports Council and was aimed to select athletes to represent Sarawak in the national-level to be held from Nov 4 to 7 in Selangor.
Among who were selected were 12 boys and girls from Limbang while Sarikei will represent Sarawak in the basketball competition while Betong will compete in futsal.
State Education Department’s co-curriculum supervisor Apo Latit gave away the prizes to the winners.
