SIBU: The people should continue to support the government for continued progress and development in the coming election.

In saying this, Temenggong Vincent Lau Lee Ming added that it would be disastrous should they vote for the opposition as they really could not do anything.

“Vote wisely in the coming election for every single vote counts,” he said at the Mid Autumn Mooncake Festival gathering held at the basketball court at Poh Yew Road on Friday.

SUPP Lanang unit together with the various neighbourhood committees of Lanang Road, Sungai Assan and Bukit Lima jointly organised the gathering.

Among those at the gathering were Lanang MP Datuk Tiong Thai King, Sibu Municipal Council deputy chairman Daniel Ngieng and SUPP Sibu vice-chairman Oliver Kuo.

Lau said the people in the area need not look far and they could be assured of more development by returning the incumbent Lanang MP and himself.

“Give us your vote and we will ensure that more development will come your way,’ he added. Ngieng, in his brief remarks, reminded the people to reconsider and rethink whether the statements made by the opposition carried any truth.

‘They said the BN government is getting bankrupt simply because we gave out financial aids to the people. But did they ever ask themselves whether Penang will go bankrupt when the DAP-led state government also gave away financial aids to the people?” he said. Meanwhile, Kuo also spoke about voting for the BN government for stability and development.

The BN government had brought years of advancement and progress. There is really no reason to vote for the opposition as they could not even have the same ideologies.
