MIRI: Eight teams are in the fray for the coming Coneli 11-aside football league to be held from Oct 20 to Dec 30.
The organiser, Lee Jong Soon said the tournament is open to players aged 40 years and above who are still active in football.
Lee said they targeted a total of 10 teams and currently, there are only two vacant slots left that need to be filled by those interested.
Moreover, he said the tourney is open to all Malaysia citizen as well as foreigners with valid document identification.
“Those who are 40 years old above and are born in the year 1972 will automatically eligible to participate in the tournament,” Lee said yesterday.
The competition is sponsored by Popular Champion Sdn Bhd (Coneli). Dateline for submission of entry forms submission is Oct 8 at 5pm.The casting of the slots will be held on Oct 19 at 8pm at Miri Stadium.
All matches will be held at two locations namely Miri Stadium and Miri City Council field. The champion team will receive RM3,000, a Coneli trophy with medals while the second place team will receive cash prize RM1,500, trophy and medals.
During the tournament, several titles are also up for grabs such as Best Player, Best Manager and Best Goalkeeper awards which come with a trophy each.
