SIBU: Hin Hua Pou Sen Association will hold a marathon on Nov 4 to mark its 100th anniversary.Its president Philip Lau King Kah said the run would be held at Sibu Town Square with the flag-off at 6.30am.“We are giving out T-shirts to the first 750 people who register for the run although we expect 1,000 entries,” he told a press conference held yesterday. The closing date is Oct 27.
The event is open to all Malaysians but only those over 12 years may join the Fun Run.The various categories are men’s Open (10km), boys’ (5km), ladies’ open (10km), girls’ (5km), and fun run (5km). Winners in the men’s and ladies’ open categories will each receive RM300, second (RM250), third (RM200), fourth (RM150), fifth RM100, sixth to 10th (RM50), 11th to 30th (RM20) and RM31st- 40th (RM10).
The champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories will each get RM300 and a trophy, the first runner-up (RM250 plus a trophy), second runner-up (RM200 plus a trophy), fourth (RM150 and a trophy), fifth (RM100), 6th to 10th (RM50), 11th to 30th (RM20).
Prizes for the fun run are RM100 for the champion, RM80 (first runner-up), RM70 (second runner-up) and RM60 (third runner-up).They shall also get a trophy each.For the 6th to 10th place, each gets RM30, 11th to 30th (RM20) and 31st to 50th (RM10).All those who completed the run are entitled to a lucky draw which has an iPAD as the grand prize.
The event’s organising chairman, Luke Nee announced the entry forms are now available at the association’s office at Wong Nai Siong Road and World Sports Equipment S/B at Tuanku Osman Road.
