SIBU: Works on the country’s first indoor volleyball stadium is progressing smoothly and is expected to be completed sometime next year. Sibu Volleyball Association president, Dr William Ting Wee Ung said the stadium at Rajang Park would have a seating capacity of 3,000.“We’re spending RM6 million on this stadium of international standard. We will have two indoor volleyball courts,” he told reporters when accompanying Second Finance Minister and Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh at the project site inspection held yesterday. Also present during the site inspection were Sibu Municipal Council chairman, Datuk Tiong Thai King, deputy chairman Daniel Ngieng, secretary Hii Chang Kee, Temenggong Vincent Lau Lee Ming, and Sibu Volleyball Association chairman Moh Wung Ming. — Photo by Jane Moh
