KUCHING: A man was yesterday slapped with a RM1,000 fine in default a month jail and also four days’ jail for causing hurt to his girlfriend.
Kho Bang Chong, 26, of Jalan Stapok appeared before Magistrate Gerald Empaling Donald who convicted him of the charge read charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code after he (Kho) pleaded guilty.
He admitted punching and biting his 18-year-old girlfriend’s cheek in front of a foodcourt at MJC in Batu Kawa about 8.30pm on Oct 4.
The magistrate ordered Kho’s custodial sentence to take effect from the date of his remand order.
He was arrested in Oct 5 following a report lodged by the victim.
In the same court room, a man from Kampung Lintang in Petra Jaya was sentenced to six-day jail and fined RM1,000 in default a month’s jail for causing hurt to another man.
Iswandy Abdul Rahman, 35, admitted that he had caused hurt to one Fadrilah Abdullah, 28, with a walking stick at a house in the village about 9pm on Oct 2.
The victim suffered injuries to his face and chest. Inspector Yunus Sahak prosecuted.
